Chesapeake Capital’s Opportunity Fund Raises $25K of $15M Offering - CBL

MARRIOTTSVILLE -- Start-up Chesapeake Opportunity Fund LLC, from Chesapeake Capital Partners, has raised $25,000 of a $15 million equity offering, according to a Reg D filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Matthew Brunner is the only principal named, as executive officer, director and promoter. About $100,000 of the proceeds raised will be paid to him for a management fee.
Brunner is a partner with Marriottsville-based Chesapeake Capital. Founded in 1997, the company structures funds that invest in residential projects of limited scope and time, with an emphasis on land development.
As Citybizlist reported, another Chesapeake Capital start-up, Springbank Ventures LLC, raised $475,000 of a $1 million equity offering earlier this month.

Matthew D. Brunner
Mr. Brunner has over twenty years of diversified financial experience with specific expertise in mergers and acquisitions, financial analysis and modeling, structured financings and private equity administration. Prior to co-founding Chesapeake Capital Partners in 1997, Mr. Brunner was the Chief Financial Officer and an equity partner of a large regional venture capital firm with over $200 million under management. His professional experience also includes two years as the Chief Financial Officer of a privately held software company and nearly eight years in various positions with the international accounting and consulting firm of Ernst & Young. Mr. Brunner focuses on investor relations, financial structuring of the funds and the projects, debt acquisition, and asset management. He also runs Chesapeake Capital's Private Utility Assessment business. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in Economics from Gettysburg College, and a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a certified public accountant.
